ZNUCALITE
Sterling Mine, Ogdensburg, NJ
Greenish yellow znucalite crust on calcite. From 'footwall
drift, N. limb, North Orebody on 2350 level Sterling Mine
circa 1976' (Bostwick). The unusual name of this mineral
refers to its composition, zinc uranium calcium carbonate
hydroxide hydrate.
Specimen size - approx 7.2 cm. X 5 cm. X 2 cm.

WILLEMITE, KUTNOHORITE(?)
Sterling Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, NJ, USA
Slickenslided willemite veins in what appears to be a
manganoan dolomite (kutnohorite(?)), judging by the
pink color and curved cleavage. The willemite is
phophorescent.
Specimen size - approx. 13.75 cm X 10 cm X 8.75 cm.
Under short wave UV (willemite-green).
