M0005 APATITE Sterling Hill, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, NJ, USA Large hexagonal, blue-green apatite crystals in marble with a black mineral that superfi- cially resembles franklinite but on closer inspection looks more like 'hornblende'.
Very similar to the material from Hamburg. The apatite fluoresces a pale blue under short-wave UV (fluorapatite?). (Photo by Gary Grenier) Specimen size - approx. 8.8 cm. X 7.5 cm. X 5 cm.

M0245 ARSENOPYRITE Franklin, Sussex County, NJ, USA Silvery arsenopyrite in marble with edenite. The look of the matrix suggests this piece came from the old Fowler Quarry, where sulfide minerals were fairly common, but the detailed locality is undocumented.
